Wisdom for Sales and Marketing

If you ask me for 2 million naira now, I will tell you that I don’t have.

Imagine if I get a call from our family doctor that my mom has been hospitalized and 2 million naira is needed.

Otherwise, she would d1e.

Do you think the money will come out?

But, I want to give you a free Masterclass in Sales.

‼️ Never make #money excuses for your #clients - potential or existing.

The person that told you that he doesn’t have money will end up spending the exact amount or more on something else other than your product.

Whenever you are prospecting a client or negotiating, clients are likely to tell you that they don't have money.

They will narrate how bad the economy has been and how Nigeria is probably not working or their businesses are not moving.

And, to further buttress their points, they will act emotional to back up their claims.

Or they may ask you to go and come back another time.

Can I tell you something….

In most cases, it's a LIE!

There is always money to make PRIORITY PURCHASES.

You may be surprised that the same client who told he has no money just made another purchase bigger than yours.

It may not be for the same product you’re selling.

Remember, he told you he had no money and almost cried along the line.

Was it his intention to lie?… No!

Should you blame him? … No!

Instead, ask yourself this question - Did I present my offer in a way that makes this prospect see it a PRIORITY?

WHY….

Because everyone has the money to purchase whatever they term a PRIORITY.

Your duty as a salesman is to communicate your offer in such a way that he/she sees that buying your product or service is a #PRIORITY.

Have you ever heard people say something like this?⁣

"Rolls-Royce doesn't advertise. They just build a good product and people buy it every year."⁣

Hmmmm...⁣

Not so, my lord. 😂

I used to believe something similar too.⁣
⁣⁣

I realized that building a good product is only half the job.⁣

The other half is making sure the right people know it exists.⁣

That's why I smile whenever people say,⁣

"Rolls-Royce doesn't advertise."⁣

They do.⁣

Just not the way most people think.⁣

If your average car costs over $200,000...⁣

Why would you advertise to people who can't afford it?⁣

That would be a waste of money.⁣

Instead, they advertise where wealthy people spend their attention.⁣

Luxury publications.⁣

Private events.⁣

Golf tournaments.⁣

Exclusive networks.⁣

They're not avoiding marketing.⁣

They're practicing precise marketing.⁣

One of the biggest lessons I've learnt in business is this:⁣

Marketing isn't about reaching everybody.⁣

It's about reaching the right people.⁣

Today, before we launch a training, a podcast, a book, or any new business, one of the first questions we ask is:⁣

"What is the best way to market this thing?"⁣

Because that's what really matters.⁣

Please...⁣

Don't ever fall into the trap of believing that a good product sells itself.⁣

It doesn't.⁣

A good product gives people a reason to stay.⁣

Good marketing gives them a reason to come in the first place.
