If you don't teach your child about God now…
❌ The internet and their friends will teach them what to believe
❌ God will just be "Sunday business" to them
❌ Their faith will be too weak to survive university, peer pressure and the world
❌ One day they may walk away from God completely.
The real teaching starts at home.

7 Simple Ways to Teach Your Child About God at Home.
Sadly, many children grow up in Christian homes but never really know God 😢
 
1. Let your child lead family devotion

✅ Let them read the Bible passage
✅ Ask: "What is God saying to us here?"
✅ Take turns leading, even the 5-year-old

Children remember what they take part in.
 
2. Let them pray in their own words

✅ At bedtime, ask: "What do you want to tell God tonight?"
✅ One honest sentence is better than a long memorised prayer
✅ Pray for them out loud so they hear their name before God

A child who learns to talk to God won't easily walk away from Him.


3. Make Bible stories come alive

✅ Let them act out David and Goliath
✅ Ask: "If you were Daniel, what would you have done?"
✅ Let them retell the story in their own words

When a child can tell the story, the story stays with them.
 
4. Build a habit of thanksgiving

✅ At dinner, everyone shares one thing God did today
✅ Keep a "Thank You God" jar or notebook
✅ When something good happens, ask: "Who do we thank?"

A grateful child recognises God in everything.


5. One memory verse a week

✅ Pick one short verse every week
✅ Turn it into a song, a clapping rhythm or a game
✅ Reward them when they know it

The Word in their heart will speak when you are not there.
 
6. Don't silence their questions

When your child asks "Why can't I see God?", don't say "Don't ask that kind of question!"

✅ Say: "Good question. Let's find out together."
✅ Search the Bible with them

A child whose questions are silenced at home will find answers elsewhere.
 
7. Let them see God in you

✅ Let them catch you praying and reading your Bible
✅ When you are wrong, apologise
✅ Show them how to forgive and be honest

Your life is the first Bible your child will read.
