Wisdom for Business Owner

Sometimes, the only solution is to wait it out...⁣
Yes, it works.⁣
⁣
I know you don't want to hear that. You want the quick fix, the new strategy.⁣
But sometimes, you just need patience.⁣
⁣
⁣
I still remember when I tried a new product some time ago.⁣
This product was so slow to gain traction.⁣
I was burning lots of money on marketing but the numbers weren't moving the way I expected.⁣
⁣
I started questioning everything.⁣
Is this the wrong product? ⁣
Or should I just cut my losses and try something else?⁣
⁣
⁣
I implemented all the strategies I knew. I did all I could do, but it was still slow.⁣
⁣
In fact, I even reached out to a friend,⁣
He told me to try something so seemingly simple I almost dismissed it.⁣
⁣
I tried it.⁣
A small tweak and that was when the product clicked.⁣
The same product, same audience, just a slightly different approach.⁣
⁣
⁣
⁣
This is the same thing that happens to many business owners.⁣
We tend to mistake slowness for failure.⁣
⁣
Just because something doesn't work immediately doesn't mean it's entirely wrong.⁣
Something not work in Week 2 doesn't mean it won't work in Week 8.⁣
⁣
⁣
When you ditch a process, you're resetting your momentum to zero.⁣
You lose the compound interest of your hard work.⁣
Starting over should be your last resort, not your first option.⁣
⁣
⁣
⁣
Before you burn it all down and start fresh, ask yourself:⁣
⁣
Do I need a new business, or do I just need a new strategy?⁣
Do I need to quit, or should I ask someone for a fresh perspective on what I'm doing?⁣
⁣
Sometimes, you're too close to see the problem.⁣
You might just be one conversation away from winning.⁣
Sometimes, you're one small tweak away from it working.⁣
⁣
⁣
I remember my senior man telling me how it took months of running 1 product before they could even break even.

⁣
So instead of quitting, refine.⁣
Get external fresh eyes, test a new angle, adjust the offer, etc⁣
⁣
But don't throw away months of momentum because you're tired.⁣
⁣
Keep winning 🙌
⁣
⁣

Please don’t give up ooo, hmmm… because after all the tears, stress, and silent battles, you cannot now leave when victory is already checking your address.

This is the easiest advice you can follow so your business does not collapse⁣
⁣
Grow yourself!⁣
⁣
It's as simple as this but very vital.⁣
⁣
⁣
⁣
Your company will never grow past your personal level of knowledge. ⁣
⁣
Growth demands you outgrow yourself first. ⁣
⁣
⁣
You cannot manage twenty staff members with the same habits you used when you were working alone.⁣
⁣
You have to trade your emotional reactions for data. ⁣
⁣
You must stop doing everything yourself and learn how to delegate tasks properly. ⁣
⁣
⁣
⁣
The work isn't just about pumping money into the business.
⁣More money poured into a broken system only creates a bigger broken system.⁣

The real work is upgrading your own capacity to handle large-scale operations.⁣
⁣
⁣
Your leadership capacity.⁣
Your decision-making capacity.⁣
Your emotional intelligence capacity.⁣
Your strategic thinking capacity.⁣
⁣
Work on all these daily⁣,
Your business will become a reflection of you.
⁣
⁣
⁣
The culture will reflect your values.⁣
The customer experience will reflect your standards.⁣
The team's performance will reflect your leadership.⁣
⁣
You cannot separate who you are from what your business becomes.⁣
⁣
If you want a business that scales, become someone who thinks at scale.⁣
⁣
Grow yourself first,⁣
Everything else follows.⁣
⁣
⁣
Keep Winning! 🙌⁣
⁣

The greatest investment you will ever make is not in real estate, stocks, or cryptocurrency, BUT in learning from people who have already walked the path you desire to travel.

Too many entrepreneurs spend years trying to figure out by trial and error what someone else could teach them in a single conversation.

I know this because I've lived it. My journey didn't begin with wealth or powerful connections. I lost my father at the age of four, and my mother carried the enormous responsibility of raising six children. Like many young Africans, I wasn't born with advantages.

I was born with a choice, to allow my circumstances to define me or to build a different future. I chose the second.

There were seasons when all I had was a dream, faith, and the determination to keep moving, even when I couldn't see the finish line. Everything I've built today started with small, consistent steps.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of building businesses across multiple industries, expanding into different countries, speaking on global platforms, and helping thousands of entrepreneurs grow their businesses and investments.

But if you ask me what made the biggest difference, my answer will surprise you. The lessons I learned from people who had gone ahead of me saved me years of costly mistakes and accelerated my journey beyond what I thought was possible.

Learn to Delegate

Don’t waste your productive time doing task that are Meant to be Delegate

Imagine CEO Engaged in Washing clothes for over a hour, cooking in the Kitchen for 3hrs plus whereas you can hire somebody to do that job for you

Let use E-commerce as an Example, CEO Always on the road to send Waybill, On phone call with Delivery agent Dragging Remittance or Receiving customer called for Product enquiries, ah no

Use your productive time to do things of higher Value & Delegate Every fuckin role

Delegate everything you possibly can

If you cannot Delegate things or cannot find people to get lower priority job done for you then You’re not ready for growth

Delegation required only one thing, that’s clarity, the major reason people don’t Delegate is lack of clarity, they don’t really know what they want & becomes Difficult to Delegate

Here is Best way I Delegate

✅What do you want done? Have a clear picture of what you want

✅Who is the right person to do, Don’t Delegates to wrong individual

✅Be very clear of what you want & When you want it, let the person be informed of when you need it(Date & Time

✅Check, review, inspect, It’s not enough to Delegate but be on top of it & let your eye be on the ball, until it’s Done

Delegation is easiest route to the top

You are busy manufacturing bitters while another person is busy building a media agency that will preach against the intake of bitters.

You are busy building hotels while another person is busy building the media agency that will determine if your hotel will be discovered or not.

You are busy importing products, taking up warehouses and building supermarkets while another person is busy building a payment system that will determine how people will transact with your business.

You are busy importing products from China while another person is busy building the software that will track your goods. If it’s manipulated at the backend to show that it still on the sea for 6 months even when it has already arrived Nigeria and sold off secretly, you will spend more money to investigate the case until you give up.

You are busy recording a music while someone is busy building an app or platform that will determine if your voice will ever be heard.

You are busy building while someone else is busy building what controls what you are building.

When you use what you have against the person, the person will use what they have against you.

Don’t make the mistake your elders made.

Learn from Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

When local petroleum distributors wanted to frustrate him, he imported 4,000 trucks to bypass middlemen.

To build his refinery, he first built the construction company that will build the refinery.

He didn’t hire another construction company to build the refinery for him.

Always take note of what controls the narrative in your field and be a part of that thing first so that someone won’t destroy in one day what took you years to build.

For most small businesses, it is an active online presence.

For some politicians, it is owning a newspaper or TV station.

Even a simple industry-niche blog can do the work.

If you are doing nothing to control the narrative in your industry, don’t be too surprised when the people who control the narrative don’t favour you with their opinions. You will rarely see a Judge who’s guilty in his own case.

The goal remains the same…..

To build businesses that solve real problems, create opportunities, and leave a legacy that outlives us.

Every meeting.
Every idea.
Every project.

Purpose over applause.
Impact over attention.

One step closer to the vision.

When you start building a new business, you are not the Chief Executive Officer. You are the Chief Servant Officer.

Everything is your responsibility, even when you already have a team. You arrive first. You leave last. You do everyone’s job until the standard you expect becomes the culture they naturally uphold. Before you can delegate excellence, you must first demonstrate it.

At this stage, there is no room to be a boss. There is no room to assume people will instinctively understand your vision or execute it the way you would. There is no room to hand over responsibility, close your eyes, and hope for the best.

Building a new team often feels like working alone. This is the hardest phase because you are trying to translate a vision that exists only in your head into the minds of others. It’s like speaking a foreign language to teenagers. If you assume they understand simply because you have spoken, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Many entrepreneurs think hiring people is the finish line. They imagine the next step is sitting in a beautiful office, sipping coffee while the business runs itself. Reality is far less glamorous. If you become comfortable before your culture is established, your business will begin to collapse from the inside.

Leadership in the beginning is not about authority. It is about service. It is about carrying the weight until others are strong enough to carry it with you.

Until then, don’t be obsessed with looking like a CEO. Be committed with working like the cleaner who touches everything, hears everything, circles around every table, cleanse everything, and supports everyone.

Yes, the world and work life is going fully digital, but you need a physical office.

People still need a place where they can locate you☑️

The greatest act of kindness you can give yourself as a business owner is to DO YOUR RESEARCH - (Market, competition, product design) before you launch a new product

Whatever business you do, take CASH FLOW seriously like your life depends on it.

As a business owner, you must swallow your pride and do whatever it takes to keep your business running.

Cash flow is king!!!

If you are becoming “known” the society or your business is growing, be careful who you take pictures with.
Many unassuming people are wanted by the police!

This is a reminder that growth brings visibility, and visibility comes with a responsibility to be more intentional about the people and situations you associate yourself with. A photograph may look harmless, but public association can create assumptions that are difficult to explain later. Being friendly is good, but wisdom means knowing when familiarity should not override discernment.

To the discerning soul reading this... May God give you wisdom to recognise genuine relationships, protect your reputation, and choose your associations carefully as your influence grows. May your progress never be compromised by a connection you failed to examine.

"Payment received" is not "Thank you".

"Seen" is not "Thank you".

"Payment acknowledged" is not "Thank you".

When a customer pays you money, open ya mouth wide and say "Thank you".

If it is online, use your keyboard and type "Thank you".

Not "Thanks"
It is "Thank you".

You get it now?
Are we clear?
Very clear?

It is "Thank you".
Not seen, or acknowledged, or received.

It is "Thank you".

More polite people even say:
- Thank you Ma/Sir
- Thank you very much for purchasing from us

You can adopt any of those

Then after saying the "Thank you", ensure to tell the customer the next steps. Don't say thank you and stop there, say the next steps.

Have a beautiful Sunday.

May we keep doing business the right way.

Trust is still the highest currency in business.

Money is powerful, but character opens doors money cannot open.

When people trust your word, they can fund your vision, carry you through tight seasons, and stand with you when cash flow is not smiling.

Please my people, always protect your name because your reputation arrives before you do.

Your integrity is collateral and also your character is capital. Don't play with them.

To every entrepreneur on this journey with me, don’t only chase income. Chase credibility, trust and a good name.

I believe that the real money you need for your next level is hiding inside the trust someone has for you.

One of the most expensive things you can have in business is ego.

And I mean expensive literally.

Ego can cost you actual money.

You launch a product and nobody buys it.

The market is clearly telling you something is wrong.

But instead of listening, you convince yourself that people just don't understand your genius.

So you spend more money marketing something nobody wants.

Ego.

You hire someone who is clearly better than you at something.

But instead of giving them room to do their job, you need to prove that you're still the smartest person in the room.

So eventually, good people stop bringing you ideas.

Ego.

You make a bad business decision.

Deep down, you already know it was a mistake.

But you've told everybody this thing is going to work.

You've invested money.

You've invested time.

You've defended the decision publicly.

So instead of cutting your losses, you put more money into it because admitting you were wrong feels more painful than losing money.

Ego.

Sometimes, it's refusing to ask for help.

Sometimes, it's refusing to learn from someone younger than you.

Sometimes, it's thinking a certain opportunity is beneath you.

Sometimes, it's maintaining a lifestyle your business cannot afford because you've already shown everybody that you've “made it.”

And sometimes, it's simply refusing to say:

I was wrong.

I've come to realise that those three words can save you a lot of money in business.

Because the market doesn't care about your ego.

Customers don't care how intelligent you think you are.

Your bank account doesn't care that you need to prove a point.

If something isn't working, it isn't working.

Change it.

If someone knows better than you, listen.

If you made a bad decision, correct it.

If you need help, ask.

You don't get extra points for being the smartest person in the room.

You get the result or you don't.

And sometimes, the difference between an expensive mistake and a small one is simply how quickly you're willing to admit:

I got this wrong.
