The Greatest Secret to Success

I’ve found the greatest secret to success and it’s not hard work or smart work.

As important both are, they do not inevitably guarantee success.

So what does? In my opinion, it is LEVERAGE

Archimedes once said “Give me a place to stand and a lever long enough and I shall move the earth.”

Take for instance: Two people are trying to get a job; equally gifted, equally talented with equal social skills; but one of them went to school with someone on the board of directors in that company. Who’s going to get the job?

Definitely the one with leverage.
You may call it nepotism or whatever, but it’s a reality in life.

For instance, one-third of the 989 billionaires in America are from the very same families. Meaning the wealth is only circulated among a few elites.

It is often said that only about 2% of the world’s population control about 90% of the world’s wealth.

So going to school and all those other advantages cannot inevitably guarantee your entering into that elite class.

So what can? Proximity to greatness, or in other words, leverage.

Even in the bible, when God wants to change someone’s life, He brings that person into close proximity with greatness and gives them a value that they can offer that greatness. And this is what you should be thinking of.

In the context of Joseph and Pharaoh, I call this value “interpreting dreams”.
For you, this value of interpreting dreams might not be a supernatural gift, it can just be an administrative skill.

Andrew Carnegie was just a man operating a telegraph machine. But his skill as an operator got him noticed by Thomas A Scott, a railroad executive who became a source of leverage for him.

Scott brought him into more administrative and managerial responsibilities within the railroad system.

This was how Carnegie gained firsthand exposure to large-scale industrial coordination, finance, and infrastructure management.

By the time Carnegie eventually launched his own ventures in steel and iron, he had already accumulated both practical experience and a powerful network.

From being a poor immigrant Scottish boy, he rose to become one of the richest men in American history.

This is a powerful example of what leverage can give you.

I tell you one thing for sure: many successful people still have a lot more to offer, but their burdens are too large.

They are looking for people that they can trust with their signet rings, who can then be in charge while they can focus on other things.

When you can go to a great person offering strategies for making their greatness easier, and their burdens lighter; this is the greatest way to access leverage.

And it’s a symbiotic relationship.
You make their burdens lighter and then they change your life with ease. That’s when you know that money is nothing to some people.

Don’t go to great people begging. Find a way to make their work easier and then they’d value you as much as they value them, change your life and they’d do it with pleasure.

YOUR FUTURE IS CREATED BY TODAY'S DECISIONS

🟪 Many people dream of a better tomorrow, but only a few are willing to make the right decisions today. The future you desire is not built by wishes, excuses, or procrastination; it is built by the choices you make every day.

🟪 Every book you read, every skill you learn, every good habit you develop, and every positive step you take is an investment in your destiny. Likewise, every wasted opportunity, every act of indiscipline, and every moment of carelessness silently shapes an undesirable future.

🟪 Remember, life does not always give a second chance for every missed opportunity. The seed you refuse to plant today cannot become the tree you hope to sit under tomorrow.

🟦 Do not wait for the perfect time. Start now. Improve now. Learn now. Grow now.

👉 Your future is watching your present actions.

Make today count.

Tips for Progress

1️⃣ Take Full Responsibility for Your Life:
Stop blaming people, the government, village people, or the devil. Stop focusing on things you can’t personally change and start focusing on what you can change and improve, your own life. The moment you take responsibility, progress begins.

2️⃣ Respect Your Source of Income:
Be diligent and serious with the job or business that brings money into your life. It is your defence and what answers all things (Ecclesiastes 7:12; 10:19). In Africa, even religious organisations, despite their spiritual power, do not joke with their sources of income (offerings, donations, etc.). Why? Because income is key. If powerful spiritual organisations don’t joke with income, then you have no excuse to be unserious with yours. Be wise.

3️⃣ Create More Than One Source of Income:
This is crucial. In today’s Nigeria, relying on a single source of income is risky. Even religious organisations, big companies, and corporations have multiple income streams. As an individual, you need more than one source of income, especially if your current income does not meet your basic needs. Multiple streams create stability. Make this your priority this month.

4️⃣ Track and Control Your Spending:
If you don’t control your money, your money will keep slipping off your hands. Budgeting is not optional this month, it is a must. Budget the way you will spend your salary or profit. Prioritise essentials. Cut off expenses that drain your money without adding value. Reduce oblee. Let go betting, completely. It’s draining your finances. This month, don’t just live within your means. Live below it.

5️⃣ Invest Wisely and Consistently:
This month, you must begin your investment journey, or accelerate it if you’ve already started. Invest in assets like land, stocks, mutual funds, and others. And listen, don’t rush to invest your hard-earned money into any sudden or trending investment. Do your due diligence first. Never invest in what you don’t understand. Understand your investments so you don’t shed premium tears later. In investing in anything, always prioritise the protection of your capital.

6️⃣ Learn a New Skill or Enrol in a Professional Course:
Yes. The higher the quality of what you know, the more money you can earn. Add skills the market values or upgrade your qualifications. More skills create more value, and more value attracts more money. Don’t remain stagnant. Get up and add value to yourself.
The year is already moving fast. Don’t be complacent. Start doing things differently if you want better results than last year.
