Understanding Private placement for Shares

Private placement is a window given to top, billionaire investors to buy the shares before the company open to the public (IPO).

Private placement is given to people like Femi Otedola, Tony Elumelu, Davido himself and their league.

These investors access the shares at a cheaper rate than the public. The private placement is cheaper than the IPO.

Example the share price for the private placement at $0.35 which is around 480 naira.

This can also tells us that the IPO price will not be upto 1,000 naira. The price is definitely going to be around 600 to 800 naira.

The private placement is the round the billionaires elbow one another to get into. Otedola alone asked for $100M worth of it.

Private placements are commonly used to attract large investors before a public offering, and such investors may receive terms that differ from what is later available to the wider market.

However, investors should be careful about drawing firm conclusions. The final IPO price can be influenced by valuation decisions, market conditions, regulatory approvals, demand levels, and other factors that may change before the public offering.
