Nuggets for Google Ads

Once your Google Business Profile gets disapproved in Google ads, you might never be able to get it approved again.

Not because you can't fix the identified issues, but the review team are just unresponsive.

And one thing many people are not aware of is the fact that their profile can be approved on Google and still get disapproved on Google ads.

The reason is due to different policy on Google ads. The attached screenshot is an example.

The page is approved on GMB but not allowed in Google ads due to some keywords that are present in the page title.

This information is for you if you run a local business and wants to display your Google My Business (GMB) location on your Google ads.

On Google Ads, you can set your Target CPA (tCPA) to any amount you want, but you cannot determine what the actual CPA will be.

While you're setting your targets, Google is evaluating the likelihood of achieving them.

If your target CPA is set too low, Google may limit your participation in auctions and prioritize advertisers whose targets are more realistic for the market.

Fewer auction opportunities mean fewer chances to win impressions.

And if you're not winning auctions:

Your ads may receive fewer impressions.

Fewer impressions can lead to fewer clicks.

Fewer clicks mean less traffic.

Less traffic often results in fewer leads and sales.

One thing is certain, though: your advertising budget will remain untouched if Google can't find opportunities that align with your target CPA.

At that point, you have two options:

Keep the tCPA where it is and wait for more favourable opportunities.

Increase the tCPA to make your ads more competitive in the auction.

The choice is yours.

Simple.

I personally think "Maximise conversion" is the best when starting out this gives Google the opportunity to bid aggressively in order to get you conversions.

I usually don't go for Target CPA because of the bottlenecks you highlighted.

I only attempt tCpa when I have enough conversion data.

yes, maximize conversion allows the system to freestyle with the budget.

But if the budget is not high enough, it can disappear without getting any result.
